This game is set
up to be the streak buster of all streak busters! This franchise has made the
playoffs 3 times in the past 4 season. The feeling of hey we made it to the
show is over with. The National perception of our beloved Bengals will not
change until this team wins some big time football games. Well, this team has a
great shot at doing exactly that this coming Saturday in Texas. The Houston Texans
are being sold as a beaten down lame duck division champion. I am not buying it
and the Bengals do not seem to be buying into that logic either. When the
Texans team sends out Andre Johnson, Arian Foster, Brian Cushing, J. Joseph, JJ
Watt and the list goes on this is a team that poses a major threat. I am not
going to go into the game last year because it is not going to play a role come
this Saturday.
I think we all
know the Bengals defense has played at an extremely high level. Caring the load
for the final three games of the regular season. If the Bengals D-Line can get
to Matt Schaub (1 TD in the last month) and make him rush a few throws the Bengals
will need to capitalize. Stopping the run and the edge type runs the Texans excel
at the Bengals will need to shut them down. We all know they love the play action
game and feeding their running backs. Standing in Foster’s way will be VontazeBurfict and a red hot run defense. The team’s leading tackler and new emotional
leader Burfict need to hold Foster under 100 yards . If the Bengals can do both
I do not see them giving up more than 13 points to the Houston team.
Andy Dalton
needs to have a great game to push this team over the top. I believe BJGE will
be ready to go and this will help but this team will go as far as number 14 can
take them. It is time to rise to the occasion like we have seen you do and show
the world the true meaning of a franchise quarterback. Shutting down Aj Green will be the focus of
the Texans defense. Gruden and company need to be more creative moving Aj
around and getting him some catches early. With improved play by Marvin Jones I
am confident Dalton has the weapons to win this game. Will he have the time and
composure to make the right reads at the right time. I say let it rip young man
there is no time is better than now.
The X-factor in
this game for me is Adam “don’ t call me Pacman” Jones! The Bengals special
teams has been a bit of a sneaky weapon that is flying under the radar. Adam
ranks 12th in the league in punt return yardage. I do not see a
reason why you do not put him back there for every punt this weekend.
With that being
said I think my Cincinnati Bengals will pull off a stunning road victory this
weekend against the Houston Texans. My prediction is based on the path both
teams have taken to get to this point.
BENGALS: 24
